About me

I have been making art most of my life. Trained as a commercial artist, I worked, for a while, with an advertising agency but my real interest was in fine art. I love working in oil but I also use watercolor, pastel, acrylic, graphite and has dabbled in print making and sculpture. Mostly, I paint in whatever medium I feel suites the subject matter,  and my paintings range from high realism to impressionism to abstraction

I have spent years taking workshops with local and visiting artist and have combined the various techniques I've learned to create my own unique style. I never stop learning and experimenting with new styles and techniques.

I find that looking at art inspires me to paint and I visit art galleries wherever I travel. Whether perched on the rocks at Ferryland lighthouse or wandering Monet’s garden in France, I find inspiration everywhere. When possible, I paint on location but since Newfoundland weather is not often conducive to painting outside, I paint from my own photos or use vintage photos as inspiration.

My work is represented by local art galleries and I participate in various art shows throughout the year.
